Last night, I went to Amex networking event at Hurleys in midtown. You can imagine in this environment that would be a lot of people and there were. It was wall to wall people. It felt like a college reunion to me. I saw people I had not seen in years. Like many other companies there were lots of recently laid off people some I still am shocked by.
While its not the perfect company, I enjoyed the 10 years I worked there. Even after I left I still kept 2 of my Amex Cards and will always keep them. Bleed Blue till the end.
It was good to catch up with people but at the same time, it only reemphasizes how many people are looking for a jobs.
