Human Toys for Children

One of my readers turned me on to a site that specializes in providing human toys for children of privilege. The site includes  a catalog of toys that describes each "toy's" speciality and is distinguished because the "toys" are all recently unemployed and using their experience to entertain children.

Entertainment runs the gamut from a former banker playing monopoly to a former Christies employee available to be a high end statue.

While I think that this  is probably a joke and a funny one, it would not be a surprise that this could possibly be a real company as there is no end to what people will do to entertain their children.

I did send a inquiry off just in case, because you never know, right?

Check it out and be entertained at humantoys.net

So far I haven't heard back from my inquiry which leads me to believe it may be a joke.

I wrote in last week after the post, asking them if it was a joke. I just got back an email from a woman named Elizabeth Sterling who said:

"I'm sorry for any confusion, but, no, Human Toy Co. is no joke. Although if you hired one of our toys, we do guarantee hours of laughter and fun!"

There was more to it than that, but it won't let me copy the email into here and I'm too lazy to type it all out. She said I could talk to their president if I wanted though. Um, dunno if I'm gonna go that far, but, yeah.

Anybody else try to contact them?

Samantha,

I was able to copy Ms. Sterling's response. After her first response, I was still skeptical and directly mentioned I thought it was joke and you will the second response.

I am curious if your email from her is worded the same.

I just keep thinking that because this is so absurd an idea its going to be picked up by the media but it hasnt.

Time will tell.

RESPONSE #1
Linda,
Thank you so much for contacting Human Toy Co.!

Though you sound like a perfect candidate for a position at our
company, unfortunately we are not currently hiring new toys at this
time. However, I have saved your contact information and will contact
as soon as new positions become available. You are just the type of
toy we look for!

Please let me know if you have any further questions. I would be more
than happy to answer them or pass them along to our president Martha
Westinghouse. And please tell your friends and family know about Human
Toy Co. if you believe they would be interested in our services! We
are always looking to get the word out about our company! Thanks!

Sincerely,

RESPONSE #2

Linda,
Of course! I apologize for my delay in getting back to you, if that is why you are asking.

Normally, I am much better about email, but this past week we were swamped with inquiries from both potential clients and potential hires. As with any business (especially a newer one like ours), we rely so heavily on word of mouth, so please trust I wrote back to you as soon as possible.

I would still like to keep you on file, if that is okay. We just hired a new batch of toys in May, so I can't give you an ETA on when we'll be hiring again. Unfortunately, it could be awhile. However, we are always looking to hire intelligent women from a variety of backgrounds, so you'll definitely be remembered.

Please let me know if you have more questions.

Sincerely,
Elizabeth Sterling
