Blasian Baby Notes Interview with Bruce Smith - Supervising Animator for the Princess and the Frog

Here is a shout out to a great mommy blogger friend at http://blasianbabynotes.blogspot.com/. She and I have bonded over the last few months as her son is bi-racial (Asisan/African American) and so am I. She is all about truly promoting dialogue about the community. I really admire her passion for the topic because growing up, the dialogue was non existent.

Recently, she was selected as a Magical Mocha Mom for the third Annual African American Blogger Mixer hosted by Disney.

As you can imagine, the big news for Disney is upcoming the Princess and the Frog (I know I am curious and hope they get it right.)

Here is Nikki's interview with Bruce Smith the Supervising Animator on Dr. Facilier, the Villain at the center of "The Princess and the Frog."

I do love the interview not because Nikki does a great job in her first on camera interview but because it shows that people of color actually work behind the scenes on movies. It's a great showcase for younger kids that life isn't all being a rapper or an athlete. There are other careers that showcase their creative talent.

You can read all about the rest of her experience @ blasianbabynotes.com

Disney finally has a black heroine, but she turns into a frog. Is this racist?
