Stella McCartney for Gap Kids - Not Very Interesting

Over the last few years, Target and H&M have signed top designers for their mass merchandise companies and with great success. I have fond memories of standing in line and beating off the hoards for my Karl Lagerfeld for H&M dresses.

Now Stella McCartney has developed a line for the Gap. Designing kids clothes versus low end women's line are two different things. Most people go to the Gap Kids for quality, low priced (I know there will be a debate on what qualifies as low-priced, here but compared Ralph Lauren kids or Crewcuts kids, it's a bargain) clothes.
Her line is just so blah and frankly, there is nothing that makes it out of the ordinary or worth buying. Now when it goes on sale, maybe.

The Sgt. Pepper jacket is $128, which I think is a bit overpriced. The dress is $58 and silk, looks cute but I would super hesitant to buy silk for a little girl. Hey, that's just me.

What do you think?

So what was the purpose of the providing you with fun facts from 1969 - to celebrate the introduction of the Gap's new line of 1969 Premium Jeans. The 1969 Premium Jeans is aptly named in honor of the debut of the Gap. The new collection has been redesigned focusing on fit, premium washes and styles all to accomodate different body types by one of my favorite designers, Patrick Robinson

As part of the celebration, the Gap has been sponsoring Gap Born to Fit Parties all through out the country.

Recently, I was one of the lucky few to be invited to a Gap Born to Fit Party, a party hosted by my friend and fellow blogger Kim (mominthecity). The party introduced us to the new line of 1969 Premium Jeans and gave us an opportunity to try on all different style which included Sexy Fit, Real Straight and Always Skinny.

I have to say, that it was a not only a pleasure to see all those cool jeans in the comfort of Kim's home but was excited to run into familiar faces like Onica (blasionbaby) and meet new mom bloggers, Niri (mommyniri), Victoria (veepveep), Melissa (sheknows), Susanna (Green Baby) and a bevy of non- bloggers. That's right, not every one I meet these days is a blogger.

Every one at the party walked away with a FREE pair of 1969 Premium Jeans.

But the best part of the event is that Kim (Mom in the City ) and the GAP are giving away to one lucky New York City Single Mom.com reader a free pair of 1969 Premium Jeans (valued up to $70.) How cool is that???
