Symphony Space Presents Ezra Jack Keats "The Snowy Day" - Discount Tickets are Available

Ezra Jack Keats, the author of Caldecott Medal winning classic The Snowy Day is a favorite in our household. I bought the book back when my daughter was in pre-school and it still remains at the top of our reading list.

On Saturday, October 24 at 11 a.m, Symphony Space is having an event called “Ezra Jack Keats in Story and Song, ” presenting both the enthralling multicultural stories and artwork of Ezra Jack Keats.

I knew Keats was an award winning author but was unaware that he was the first children's book author and illustrator to portray children of color as main characters.

The event will include live readings from Sonia Manzano ("Maria" from Sesame Street) and Dominic Colon ("Manny Spamboni" from Electric Company), big-screen projections, and original Keats-inspired tunes from Symphony Space favorites The Deedle Deedle Dees, and Randy Kaplan.

All kids will take home a goodie bag (gotta love those goodie bags) with a free Keats book, a poster, stickers, activities and more!

Symphony Space will be offering a discount code (RAC102) for $10 ticket. This is a good deal since tickets are $25. For more details and to order tickets: Symphony Space.Org
